Walk Through History: Bible Edition

“Welcome back! Today we’re continuing our journey through Scripture—Day 179—and we’re diving into 1 Kings chapters 20 and 21.
In these chapters, we see powerful contrasts: God’s mercy and victory on the battlefield, even when Israel’s king falls short… and then a sobering story of injustice, greed, and abuse of power in the account of Naboth’s vineyard.
As we read, pay attention to how God responds—not just to nations, but to the choices of individuals. There are lessons here about obedience, humility, and the serious weight of our actions.
Let’s jump in.”

Welcome back! Today is Day 180 of our journey, and we are just a few days away from the halfway point—what an incredible milestone. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are just catching up, take a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come.
In today’s reading, we’re diving into 1 Kings 22 and 2 Chronicles 18, where we encounter the dramatic and sobering story of King Ahab, King Jehoshaphat, and the prophet Micaiah. These chapters pull back the curtain on what happens when leaders seek counsel—but only listen to what they want to hear.
We’ll explore the contrast between false prophets who speak comfort and a true prophet who speaks truth, even when it’s unpopular. It’s a powerful reminder about discernment, courage, and the consequences of ignoring God’s voice.
As you listen today, consider this: When truth is hard to hear, do we lean in—or turn away?
Let’s jump in.

Today we are reading 2 Chronicles 19-23 Ch. 19: Jehoshaphat appoints judges and calls for justice Ch. 20: God wins the battle as Judah worships Ch. 21–22: Wicked kings bring judgment Ch. 23: Joash is saved and restored to the throne

Welcome back to Day 182! Today, we’re diving into the short but powerful book of Obadiah—yes, that one you definitely read all the time… right? 😄
Alongside Obadiah, we’ll also spend time in Psalms 82 and 83, where we see themes of justice, authority, and a heartfelt cry for God to act.
So whether you’re listening on your morning drive, during a quiet moment, or while multitasking your day—settle in, and let’s hear what these passages have to say.
Let’s get started.

Today we're diving into 2 Kings chapters 9 through 11, some of the most dramatic and fast-moving chapters in the Old Testament. We'll witness the rise of Jehu, God's judgment against the house of Ahab, the downfall of the infamous Queen Jezebel, and a turbulent period in Judah's history when the royal line itself seems on the verge of extinction.
These chapters remind us that God's promises and His justice will always prevail, even when events appear chaotic and out of control. We'll see the consequences of generations of rebellion, but we'll also see God's faithfulness in preserving His covenant and protecting the line through which His greater plan of redemption would continue.
As you listen today, consider how God remains at work behind the scenes of history. Human rulers rise and fall, kingdoms change hands, and circumstances shift rapidly, but God's purposes never fail. Even in the darkest moments, He is faithfully accomplishing His plans.
So open your Bible, settle your heart, and join us as we explore 2 Kings 9–11. Let's discover together how God's justice, sovereignty, and faithfulness shine through every chapter of His Word.
